Calibration and Periodic Verifications
Radiation protection instruments — ensuring safety through reliability
Radiation protection devices play a vital role in ensuring personnel safety. It is therefore essential that they remain in perfect working condition.
CERAP Prévention carries out the calibration and calibration verification of your probes, dose rate meters and monitoring beacons, in full compliance with the provisions of the Decree of 21 May 2010.
Calibration
Calibration must be performed before the first use of the instrument, and a calibration certificate must be provided by the manufacturer.
Periodic calibration verification
The periodic verification consists of measuring the instrument’s characteristic parameters as specified in its calibration certificate. For instruments without an initial calibration certificate, reference is made to the results of the first verification.
Verification frequency:
- 1 year : for operational individual dosimetry instruments
- 3 years : for measuring instruments without permanent performance monitoring
- 5 years : for measuring instruments equipped with permanent performance monitoring
Any significant corrective maintenance, particularly on the detection system, must always be followed by a calibration verification.
